is there something wrong with hotmail for the past few days or what? somehow, i cannot log in to my account, the page will just stop loading. then, i cannot even go to hotmail.com. am i the only one experiencing it? because, my sister could log in to hers, but i can't. and even so, i tried logging in in the library and i could. hmmm.

i was so confused that i wanted to turn on msn and ask people what's wrong and everything and that's when i remembered, msn is also not working.

so i finially investigate to check what's wrong with msn. i tried many different troubleshooters but no to avail. it still displays the error message that i can't get in la, something about my firewalls are still blocking msn. but i undo that and it still couldn't log in. i even uninstall and download again. still nothing.

am i alone? or are the other computers out there having the same problem?

i needed to get into my email account because i have a resume to send out to. so much so that i created a gmail account. hah, yes, finally succumb to get gmail.

anyway, speaking of resume. going to gmail was successful, then when i tried to attach my resume, i remembered a horrible thought.

i didn't back-up my edited resume before the old computer crashed. dong again. though i do have the hard copy of the resume. the thing is, the computer crashed, so everything is gone. now, word and all the other office softwares have to be 'activated' in order to use them. but no, cannot seem to activated it so all i can do is just see my resume there but can't do anything to it. just look.

so i guess i have to go out and fax it at a shop or something.

oh oh oh! i forgot to mention about this an entry before. i pass my basic theory. syukurrr. now i just need to register for a PDL and off to practical lessons :D:D:D

hmm, and another thing. i went to another interview yesterday. sara's boss was asking for someone to do in events. sara asked me if i want and i said i needed a job anyway. i thought the job was apart of sara's company, which was eyecon productions. and there i went and realised it was so so so so not. its all about event management and marketing. marketing? how, i didn't even study that. turns out the interviewee was a friend's of sara's boss.

so sara is an assistant producer! i jealous. so i ask him whether the boss needs anymore people. and i got a reply to email my resume. yayness! but that proves to be harder than it sounds. haiz.

ladies and gentlemen. i'm back at home, with the new computer.

so indeed, the old hard drive crashed and everything went kapoot! but i managed to restore back all of my folders and data from my unexpectedly trusty portable hard disk. everything that belongs to me is a-ok. 'cept for a few programs, which installation cds im still looking for.

well, this is what i got with the new computer. a new pentium 4 cpu, a total of 448mb of ram (no idea why its not a 512mb, but its mucho better than 128mb!!) and a new hard drive with 80gb of space in it.

so while dad was still trying to fix and install the whole antivirus thing into the com, SOMEONE just couldn't wait to chit chat and proceeded to download msn, semi protected and all. so just like that, got a pop-up that says 2 malicious viruses floating around in the computer.

what a sweet welcome to the cyber world eh? luckily, somehow, manage to restore it with multiple attempts to update liveupdate a few times due to bad server. i donno. and now its virus-free.

so as it turns out, msn is not working. donno why. not my main priority at the moment, so i couldn't be bothered to find out what's wrong with it. you have ur phone, go and smses all night long if you like chatting so so so much like you will die without it being online and all. puh-lease.

so anywayyyy. i'm very very very glad the computer needed its much new makeover. i enjoy watching videos on youtube now. wheeeeeeee. no more lagginggg!

and yan, i can finally watch the prison break s2 videos that u pass to me, hehehe. the old speakers were dead too. now got a new one. hehehe.

and yea. noi yan or whoever. can anyone pass me illustrator, premiere pro, dreamweaver, flash cds to me? sms meee!

im at a community library now, using the multimedia computer.

why?

because i think my own computer at home just left earth. or is about to. its so weak now, that it can't even recognise that it has 256mb ram, but shows 128mb ram instead. how screw up is that right?

so i've been away from any computer and internet for the past 2 days and its killing me. argh.

and my dad just happened to say the RIGHT thing to the serviceman.

"my budget is ." and the dude said, "then might as well change the whole thing!"

ahahha, ok here's the story on how it happened.

my dad bought a new modem as well as a wireless router and the funny thing was that he had no clue how to fix it. so he called up his friend to fix it for him. i explained that before in a previous post. so, the fixing is done. but at the same time, while fixing, they got touch some stuffs inside the computer, like wriggling the ram card and whatever they did. so the new items were fixed properly.

not before something ultra weird happened to the computer. somehow, it shows that it has 128mb ram, when actually, i checked, we got 256mb ram installed.

yeshhh! 256! and all along i had 512mb ram! no wonder its sooooo slow!

anyway, yea, thats the strange thing. i see two 128 ram card in the computer, but the computer writes it has 128mb. thats when my admit he and his friend got touch the cards and had not clue what happened next. then suddenly, the computer died. can't turned it on. disk boot failure it says.

i must let u know i have no idea what he was doing to fix the new problem to the computer. i was enjoying watchin tv while he TRIED to fix it. haiz. so when i was done with tv, i asked him what exactly did he do. and somehow, after much 'interrogation', he said he got 'kacau' the motherboard.

....

and he said he may have crack it. whahahaha. and he asked me whether i had backup my project files and whatever cos he may have to reformat it. before i could answer, the siblings went berserk and yelling they have to back their stuffs ups. i could see the fear in their eyes at the taught of their music files and pictures gone forever.

evil laughs. well, i had backup-ed all of my data last week and didn't add or change anything to my data folders, so im not worried. while my own hard disk is weak itself, it never fails me. yet. i just have to stroke it like a baby and it will work.

so my dad send to the shop to fix it, asking the dude to fix the motherboard and get a new one. my dad explains to the dude his budget and the dude replied back, why not upgrade everything? ahahah.

so yes. i'm gonna have 512mb of ram and an additional space of 80gb. oh, plus a brand new motherboard. =)

oh oh oh! i just got a call from my sister yelling at me about something. turns out, the data from the computer are all gone.

i have nothing to say. hehehe.

ok. im done blogging for the day, i think it covers the reason why im absent for the past few days. ehhe. but i have something to ask noi and yan! are you two planning to go to the graduation ceremony. pls sms me!

le sigh. i'm not happy with my new layout. but i figure i let it see the light of day.

for awhile.

anyway. guess what happened for my interview yesterday? it never happened.

well, i was dressed as per normal, jeans and a top. then my dad said to change because i am going for an interview, even though i know the person and we are like buddies and everything. owells, so i changed. i went off and realised that i was late. due to the last minute outfit change. so i took a cab - the fare wasn't high by the way.

so going on, i arrived and didn't see her at her desk. i called her, took a long while for her to pick up and told me that she's in a meeting.

basically, she forgot about the interview.

all i could do was laugh out loud. the whole incident wasn't horrible, it was just very very very amusing. and there i was, with my skirt, laughing to myself. alone. picture that huh, eheh.

so i spent time in the office for awhile, chatting with the people there and laughing at the incident as well. and the office seemed very quiet, only a handful were in there. maybe they went off for early lunch. shrugs. oh, and i wanted to find kim, to ask whether i can start cutting trailers :D

anyway, i realised i dressed up in a skirt for nothing. well, not really nothing, it was nice to see everyone again. bryan raised his arms over his head and said, "liza's backk!!"

so anyway, i just finished my 2nd mock-up btt. and i pass all 6 attempts over those 2 mock-up sessions. but somehow, i cannot get a 100% pass leh. there must be one answer that is incorrect, sigh. at least i did much better than i thought, hehe.

and the dad is way way way more excited and glad that i managed to pass the mock ups, even before i sit for the real test. he's super super inpatience for me to get a license, let alone, pass a freaking paper. i mean, he's the one who persuaded me to get off my ass and register as a learner, ahah.

he's just waiting for me to buy a car and then he'll take it away as his 'retiring gift'.

hmpft, yes he's retiring. soon. but for everyone's sake, he'll be able to continue on with work. =]

no particular reason, just that i am just about to graduate, you know. it's too soon to go to that whole "i'm supposed to be a working girl" phase of my life. well, it's in my humble opinion.

anyway, i met up with noi, sya and yan for gelare waffles and ice-cream on tuesday. it's also a belated celebration for noi, who had spent her birthday week preparing for her elder sister's wedding. sorry again that i couldn't come down on that day and teach those kl people some manners. they would sure get a mouthful from me, hehehh. tak tau malu punye makcikss! yes, and noi got her rockstar shades from us, ehhe. i remembered while she was hinting at me at what she got for my birthday gift, she let it slipped that she was also looking for thise vintage-looking shades, ala aviator style. heheh, i was paying attention to that but not the hinting part, because i was really really surprised that that was the gift for me. ahaha.

but i to comment on your early post about that day noi - i was not surprise about the whole 'surprise'. i could see and hear what you and sya were up to but i just played ditzy. aahahhaha. but it was still a nice 'surprise', if you know what i mean, ahha, i think. hehe. i really thought it was a hang out session lah. lol

so the whole fixing the computer part didn't turn out successful, but nothing was lost, that's a good thing. the serviceman is gonna be here again this weekend.

on another note. this week, is busy busy busy for me. i have my e-trial tests of basic theory. yes, i failed the last time, did i mention before? well, i find that the test questions are quirky, and that thet are darn tricky, as if there's 2 answer per question, which makes it more difficult.

so anyway, i also have an interview this thursday. mediacorp called me. well, my old department called me asking if i like to fill this position. not exactly the position i wanted, but i'll come for hugging my former colleagues sake. and maybe something more.

i wanted to be more in the production business. i have withdrawal symptoms everyday, especially when i see the dance floor trailer shoots. dang , i miss the adrenalin rush.

that'll be all for now. i'm still tweaking my resume, and realised i've been filming at least 1 project since april 06 till jan 07.

oh dear, i only have a few hours to back up my files and data into my dying hard disk because some serviceman is coming down tomorrow afternoon to fix the problem with my almost-a-decade-old computer, like this frustrating slower than usual speed, be it online or not online. well, actually, my computer has always been slowww.

so anyway, i have a plenty to back up, including the new blog layout that i made just a few days ago. well, expect a more brighter layout than this one ;)

but another worrying matter is my hard disk. its dying, and i still have not gotten a backup backup device.

i have to stroke the darn thing before any power can go through and be recognised by the computer. how weird, eh?

but on another note, noi! i have to see you, i've been keeping something that is not mine and stories to shareee. when? maybe for half-price gelare waffles?

it was supposed to be a day of funness last friday.

i woke up early to find my kid brother still not bathe, and most importantly, not off to school yet. then, both of my parents are up and awake, my dad on the phone calling out my aunt's name repeatedly.

and so my mom told me that my uncle had passed away in the early morning. and the saddest part was that he was at sabah because he was working there. that's why my brother was not going to school, and that's why my dad was trying to talk to my aunt, probably to calm her down.

imagine losing your loved ones suddenly AND not being able to be their side when it happened? or after? it was truly heartbreaking that he died alone, with stranger around.

i cannot imagine the devastation my aunt went through.

and there i found out that without hesitation, she went off to sabah, all by herself. and we, her family and relatives were so worried of what could happened to her because we had no other relatives living in sabah.

and everyone was worked up because we were trying to get the body back to his tanah air asap. there were alot of calls made from my dad, arranging the transfer and flight back to singapore. and it all came down to the body coming back the next day, the earliest and possible outcome, due to some protocols over at sabah, i believe.

the next day, saturday, dad went off first to collect the body. the rest of us went to my aunt's place, and upon arrival, everyone was ready at the void deck, waiting for the bus. when we came, everyone boarded the bus, no one was left behind. the bus travelled and stopped by the side of the road beside the mosque and we waited for the body to arrive.

when i saw my dad at the mosque, we all went out and walked together to the mosque. there, we saw our aunt hugging my grandmother and sobbing hysterically.

it was heartbreaking. she was inconsolable. my heart ached.

my uncle's death was sudden and unexpected as well. who knew? renal failure. in the end, we are just glad that my arwah uncle gets his peace finally.

hug your loved ones my fellow friends, because you really never know what tomorrow's going to be for you.
